Statis Trap / Attribute Bonus

Brief explanation to skill builds:

1.
Land Mines is your main farming tool to get up to your 1st important item (Mystic Staff). Use this as your main farming tool, Place this on runes' spot, on some strategic location that might kill heroes.

2.
Suicide is taken up to level 2 only. The reason is because this guide is not a guide which concentrate on suicide. 2 levels of suice is taken though so that when the opportunity of it occurs, we can still manage to kill the enemy heroes.

3. Statis Trap is our main tool towards end game. This is what makes techie still so powerful during late game, and what makes him such a good team player.

4. Remote Mines, same as Land Mines, more to that later.

C. Item Build

Recommended Item Build:

Starting items:
12 clarity potion / 1 shoe + 5 clarity potion

1. Shoe
2. Void Stone x 2
(This are the first main items that you should hit to get ASAP, shoe so that u can run up faster to farm/suicide, and 2 void so that your mana regen helps u in farming to your next main item faster ....... which is ...... )

1. Mystic Staff
(Once you have gotten 2 void and 1 mystic staff, u can practically cast Land Mines on each coming creep wave with having to worry much about your mana. That is why this will be the most important part of your game.)

Core Items

1. Euls
2. Guinsoo
(You main goal as a team player is to support your team in the form of disabling the opponents. Euls and Guinsoo fit best. Furthermore, their components give you a whole bunch of mana / mana regen, which is what techie desperately needed.)

Luxury Items

(If you are doing pretty well, then You may expend your shoe into a travellers, and get a Shiva to further help your team.)

D1. Goals to remember:

Just before I get into the real thing of techie, let me get this straight.
I've never believe in a successfull team player as a 'suicide' techie all the way. I have never seen a techie player who is very successfull in suiciding all the way till end game. If you suicide too much in early games, you will be significantly out leveled by your opponents, and with the time wasted on reviving, you are actually wasting a lot of your valueble time, which u should be out there farming for your useful items. Without these support items (guinsoo/euls), u won't be able to support your team well. Tell me,how  are you gonna put enought statis traps/bombs along the way when u are pushing if u dun have the mana capacity/regen rate?

And so, here it goes. This guide is about being a support techie hero, which are decently useful and be able to hold on their lane in the beginning of the game, considerably helpful in mid games, and very powerful in supporting your team mates in late game. Imagine, 6 sec stun from your statis trap, guinsoo, cyclone, rinse and repeat .........you get that idea ;)

Here are the main goals that you need to focus on if you would like to play and be a strong supporting hero as techie to your team.

1. Farm as fast as possible to your 2 void stone.
2. Next goal ==> Mystic Staff (Most important item)

After that, it 's all up to you. You may complete your euls first, or your guinsoo first, or anything else which u deem fit, because once you have got your 2 void stones + Mystic Staff, you practically won't have to worry much about your mana.

So .... remember ..... the most important goal throughout your whole game is to ...............

1. Farm as fast as possible to your 2 void stone.
2. Next goal ==> Mystic Staff (Most important item

D2. Walkthrough by game stages:

D2a. Early / Mid game:

Remember your goal? 2 Void stones. That's right.
Get your 12 clarity potion, and run into mid lane. Start placing mines at some strategic locations. Don't be stingy on your clarity potion. Use it. Quickly place mines and keep drinking your clarity potion. You may put mines at the rune spots. 4 x Land Mines during early games should be suffice to kill most heroes. Hopefully u will be able to complete placing 4 mines before the 1st horn starts and the creeps clashing in the middle of the river.

After that, you can start your normal play.

If you have the chance to suicide and kill your opponent, do not hesitate to do so. It gives u 100gold, as well as a free trip back to the fountain to recharge.

Use your mines to farm creeps.

Once u hit level 4 Land Mines, you can start farming more efficiently.
A level 4 land mines, if placed properly, can immediately kill the range creeps, and damage all the melee creeps, leaving with only a single hit to kill. If you manage to place the land mines, and then immediately fire 2 shots, one at each  of the enemy melee creeps which is not being targeted, you are guaranteed   to pocket a 4-creep-kill, somewhat around 150-200 gold.

And if u are at mid lane, sentenial, that would be even better. Once you get all the creep kills, your ally creep will push over to the opponent side. While waiting for the next creep wave to arrive, quickly go into the forest, and plant a Land Mine at the nearest neutral creep camp. As that nearest creep camp (the one nearest to the mid tower) will always spawn the cheapest creep, by placing only 1 of your Level4 lane mines there, this will grant u an immediate kill of the entire camp of creeps. After you've done this, quickly run back to your mid lane, and if you do this correctly, your lane mine is ready and is waiting for you to pocket another 150-200gold on the coming enemy creeps.

Rinse an repeat, and this won't be too difficult to get your into your 2 void stones and your mystic staff.

D2c. Late game:

if you are able to hit level 16 (your Remote mines whould be at level 3 right now) by 45min, then you have hit the jackpot !!! 1 single remote mine will kill the entire creep wave !!!!!!

But worry not, even if u didn't achieve that, a lane mine + a remote mine will instantly kill an entire creep wave. Just make sure that you don't overdo it before you get your Euls + Guinsoo. It might be to taxing to your mana pool.

Late game will be when you have got your Mystic Staff. Once you have got your Mystic staff, you should be actively participating in Ganks. Go around, help your team mates, your main skill now is ........ STATIS TRAP !!!

Whenever there's team clash / ganks, wait for everyone to get into the battle, then run up, place a STATIS TRAP there, and use your Euls/Guinsoo/Shiva/etc ...... Rinse and repeat.

When pushing, place STATIS trap along the lane whenever the cooldown is ready. This is because, if your team lose out in that particular push, the statis trap that u planted along the lane might save their lives during the retreat.

Plant lots of statis traps on forest, on hiding spots, on roshan, on anywhere you deem fit. Just plant it.

E. Conclusion

I've layed out all the basic that you need in order to be a good techie support player. The rest of it is up to you to go and explore , and experience it yourself. With more game plays, experience will tell you what you should do at the most appropriate time. And again, before I end this, let me remind you again on the goals that you should be ahieving ............

1. Farm as fast as possible to your 2 void stone.
2. Next goal ==> Mystic Staff (Most important item

And with that ............Happy BOMBING !!!!!!

Here is the suggested skill build:

C. Skill Build

1.
Firestorm
2.

3.

5.
Firestorm
6. Dark Rift
7.

11.
Dark Rift
12.
Expulsion
13.
Expulsion
14.
Expulsion
15-24.
Attribute Bonus
25.
Dark Rift

Brief explanation to skill builds:

1.
Firestorm is a no brainer. It's your farming tool that gets you all the items. It helps you farm from far far away, preventing you from getting harrased. Max it out ASAP.

2.
piT of malice is maxed next. This is a wonderful disabling skill which works on even hero that is magically imuned. In simple terms, It means that even hero with avatar/BKB will be entangled.

3. Expulsion is a nice skill which works on corpses. The more corpses there is, the more damage and stuns. We leave this out till mid game as during the early stage of the game,Firestorm is sufficient for our farming.

4. Dark Rift is taken till level 2. Level 1 allows u to only tele to buildings. Level 2 allows u to tele to ally units, while the difference between Level 2 and Level 3 is only a 1 second delay.

C. Item Build

Recommended Item Build:

Starting CORE items:
NOTHING !!!
Yes. NOTHING !!!

1. Void Stone
2. Ring Of Health
3. Ultimate Orb
4. Shoe
5. Tele scroll

Late Game FINAL Items
:-
1. Battle Fury (if carrier) / Linken (if tanker)
2. Power Treads / Boots of Traveller
3. Skadi
4. Mekasm / Assault Cuirass

5. Heart (if tanking) / Buriza (if carrying)
6. Tele scroll

Explanation to item builds:

1. Perseverence is for you to stay on your lane to keep farming up to your items. It is your MAIN item regardless of whichever path (tanker/carry/support) you are taking.

2. BOT / Power treads, i personally prefer BOT. If your team mates is holding up their lanes well, you can get your power treads, but if u are ganking around (which u should be, because of your 3 powerful spells), then BOT is the one to get.
3. The first Ultimate Orb is basically for you to be able to perform better in ganks, because with the orb, it adds a bit of everything to your stats. You will regen hp/mana faster, u will have a bigger mana pool to better perform in ganks, and u will be a bit beafier to take on a little bit more damage. So, It's a must.

4. After the core item, (which is your Perseverence, Boots and Ulti Orb), you can then decide on what final items you wanna have based on the judgement of the progress of the game.

This is the item build which i usually have ==>

D2. Walkthrough by game stages:

D2a. Early game: (Level 1-9)

This is the most important part of the game. Once u understand how pit lord is being played, you will be good to go.

Pit Lord is a strength hero, which has good hp.
He has 4 active spells which needs to use a lot of mana at an instance.
Before we can get to there, we need fast mana regen to buy all the items that help us achieve the above.

With that, we buy NOTHING when the game starts.

and your first item will be a VOID STONE.

After u have got your void stone, u can practically cast firestorm (level 2 onwards) on every creep wave.

If you are against nukers, or u are solo against 2 heroes, then just stand behind far far away, enough to get experience, and some creep kill. Just play safe, and farm from afar using your Firestorm. That's all that u have to keep in mind right now.

No rambo stuff. No Spartan stints.

Just Firestorm, and farm for your next item ==> Ring Of Health.

D2b. Mid game: (level 10-14)

Mid game starts when u have got your Perseverence, Ulti Orb and Boots (plus some tele scrols)

When u have got these items, U can (and should) go and help out in ganks.

Why u should be ganking? It's simple.

Because all your spells are for ganking.
Your Pit Of Malice is a wonderful disabling skill.
Your spells are all low in cooldown.
Your Firestorm / Expulsion is painful.

You just should help out in ganks and help your carrying teams mates so that they can farm to get better items.

How to gank?

1. Cast your firestorm + Expulsion + Pit Of Malice first.
2. You have to make your own judgement call on which spell to cast first. Difference situation calls for different combination.
3. After you've cast all your spells, just walk in and whack.
4. When your spells has cooldown, Rinse and Repeat step 1-3 again.

Easy, aint it?

All you have to keep in mind is,

ALWAYS CAST YOUR SPELLS FIRST BEFORE U RUN IN and engage with the enemies.

D2c. Late game: (level 15-25)

Now is the decision to whether be a tanker, or a damage dealer.

It's all up to you, and up to your game progress.

If your team needs a tanker, and doesn't have a strength hero, you have not much choice but to tank for them. For this, I would suggest that after your CORE items, you should quickly build up some defensive high end items.

Whenever i say CORE items, it means a Perseverence, Boots and an Ulti Orb.

With the Ulti Orb and Perseverence, you should be able to cast all your active spells at one short, and even some more once they are cooldown (if u manage your mana well).

So if u wanna be a tanker, and if the opposing team has a lot of spell caster, get a HEART, if they have more dps heroes, then get a Mekasm / Assault Cuirrass, depends on which item your team hasn't gotten yet.

But, if your team is doing well, and do not need a tanker, you can be a damage dealer then. Finish up your Perseverence to a BattleFury, and make your Ulti Orb into a Skadi.

With the Skadi in hand, u are practically a semi tank, while at the same time, capable of dishing out some respectable damage.

E. Conclusion

Pit is a very easy hero to use. Let's make an easy summary here:-

1. Early stage, concentrate on your farming with FIRESTORM CONSERVATIVELY.

2. Mid stage, AGGRESIVELY help out in GANKS.

3. End stage, push..... and always remember .............

4.
ALWAYS CAST ALL YOUR SPELLS FIRST BEFORE U RUN IN and engage with the enemies.

C. Skill Build

1.

2.

4. Poof
5.

7.

Attribute Bonus / Poof / Geostrike
15.
Attribute Bonus / Poof / Geostrike
16.
Devided We Stand
17 - 25. A
ttribute Bonus / Poof / Geostrike

Brief explanation to skill builds:

1.
Geostrike is for the bonus 15 damage. It really helps in getting last hit. The reason i only level it for 1 level is because I seldom use the slow anymore after i got better with EarthBind The slow is no longer needed. But if u are not confident with your EarthBind or if u are still new, i would suggest that you at least get Geostrike up to level 3 at least, so that your prey won't be able to get away easily, and at the same time, increase your accuracy in netting with EarthBind where u are hero hunting.

2.
EarthBind is maxed ASAP for it's range. with 1250range, u will be able to net unaware enemies with easy, while allowing the rest of your clones to continue netting the enemy, and catch up to the enemy and land your hits.

3.
Poof is taken at level 4, right before u get your 1st clone at level 6. 1 level is enough just for the teleportation. When u have 3 clones or more, u can start maxing this skill, for some killing, as well as farming/pushing. More will be discussed later.

4.
Devided We Stand , taken whenever possible, shouldn't be any question on this.

C. Item Build

Recommended Item Build:

Starting items:
1 ring of regen + 2 iron wood branch

1. Mekasm
2. Valdmir's Offering

Late Game Items:-
1. Power Threads
2. Reaver / Orge Axe
3. Reaver / Orge Axe
4. Reaver / Orge Axe
5. Assault Cuirass (if non of your teammates have it)

Brief explanation to item builds:

1. You start with a ring of regen + 2 branches, to help you stay on lane.

2. your next most important item will be a Mast Of Death. The reason for this is because with it, you will be able to farm neutral longer without having to go back to heal.

3. Once u have your CORE items (Mekasm + Valdmir), you can farm neutrals without having to go back anymore.

D1. Skill Analysis

1. Control.

First of all, let me go thru how i control my meepos with the Ctrl key. I would always keep the meepo which i am controlling at CTRL+1, while the rest at CTRL+2. That's it. I only keep 2 groups of meepos, nothing more than that.

Let's say, i am sending 2 meepos to farm neutral, and another one to stay at the lane and farm, I will group the 2 that is going to farm neutrals as CTRL+2, while the one in lane will be CTRL+1. With this in mind, most of the time, i will be concentrating on CTRL+1, while CTRL+2 will be only used to attack on neutral camps.

But, when i wanna go hero hunting, or when I'm being attacked, i will quickly group ALL meepos in CTRL+1. By doing this, it grants be easier access to all the meepos.
Well, that's just my choice. If you have a better one, feel free to stick with it. :)

2. EarthBind / Hero Killing.

Here's the part for Hero Killing. With 1250range, you can easily throw your net even before the enemy can notice your existance. I would suggest you start doing this only if u have at least 3 meepos (level 11). If u don't have the confidence, then it's better to wait till u are level 16 and have 4 meepos.

1. 1st, keep all your meepos under CTRL+1, and then take a DEEEEEP breath.
2. Find a good timing, then command all your meepos and right click (attack) on the enemy hero.
3. While your meepos are approaching the enemy, quickly click "E", and click on the enemy hero for the net. You should be able to do this before the enemy can even notice your existance.
4. Now, click TAB. This will focus on the spell on your next meepo, while still maintaing control on all your meepos.
5. Click "E", and aim at the enemy hero again. *Spliack*, you enemy is being netted again.
6. Continue on step 4 -> 6 until enemy is dead.

Most of the time when i threw my 2nd net, my meepos would have already caught up with the enemy and landed my 1st hit. If u have Geostrike level3 and above, you wouldn't have any problem catching up with the enemy even without throwing any nets, as the enemy will be moving like a snail by then.

3. Poof / Hero Killing / Creep Clearing.

Poof is good for clearing creeps fast. There are many usage of poof. Let's go thru 1 by 1.

Clearing Creeps
1. Put all your meepos in CTRL+1.
2. Click "F", click on the meepos which is surrounded by enemy creeps (yes, it is possible for the meepo to click poof on itself)
3. click TAB, this will focus spell on your next meepo.
4. continue on step 2->4 until all meepos are poofed.

Hero Killing
I do not encourage you to use WindWalk+Poof to kill heroes while I really don't like the idea of wasting 3000+ gold just to get a item which doesn't benefit meepo much. But if under any circumstances you managed to get an "Invi" rune, or u managed to get yourself invisibled by spells (Treant / Miranda), do not hesitate to use this to create havoc on the enemy team.

Some times, when u are farming alone in the neutrals, or when you are a single meepo farming on a lane, and the enemy sees that there's only 1 meepo farming on a lane, and think that u are an easy prey to them, and wanted come up and kill you, DO NOT PANIC. DO NOT RUN AWAY. This is what you should do.

1. I believe most of the time when u are being caught, u will still have 2 CTRL groups. For this case, we will have to go thru group1 and group2 for all the poof.
2. Click "1" to select all the meepos in group 1.
3. Click "F", then click on the meepo which is with the enemy hero (U can use the minimap and click on it. It's faster by doing that instead of using the Actual screen)
4. click TAB. This will focus spell on your next meepo.
5. Continue on with step 3->5 untill all the meepos in this group has used the poof skills.
6. Click on the wonded meepo, and run him back to base.
7. Now click on the 2nd group of meepos, and do the same thing.
8. Now, if the enemy is still alive, proceed on with the EarthBind/Hero Killing procedure.

4. Overall View.
Now that you've learnt the EarthBind & Poof method, there're still some tips for you that might help.

1. Do not forget that you still have a Mekasm with you. When one of your meepos are in red, quickly press F1 and then click at the Mekasm.

2. When engaging your enemies, always keep an eye on the 4 meepo hero icons on the top left of your screen. The top most meepo being F1, follow on by F2, F3 and the last one being F4. When u see any meepo are being targetted, for instance, the 3rd meepo on the top left screen is being attack, quickly click "F3" and pull him back.

D2. Walkthrough by game stages:

D2a. Early game:

The way i play meepo is to out level the enemies ASAP. The most groups i have at any one time will be not more than 2 groups, where 1 group farming at the neutrals, while the other, on his lane. This can be achieved once u have your 1st clone at level 6.

1. Make the meepo on your lane as CTRL+1. (i prefer to choose the clone as this one, as most of the time, i will be focusing on it, thus, i can make sure that it doesn't get hurt/die so easily)

2. Make the other meepo that farm the neutral as CTRL+2. (which most of the time for me, will be the REAL meepo.)

3. The reason I send the REAL meepo to farm neutrals is because he is the only one which can carry the ring of regen and the Mask Of Death on early stage, thus, he won't need much attention from u. All u need to do is just to click at him, and order him to auto attack the neiutrals. He will be able to regen by himself thru his ring + Mask.

4. At anytime if ur meepo is heavily wounded, don't be hesitate to send him back to the fountain.

D2b. Mid game:

Mid game is where u have 2 clones (Level 11).

At this stage of game, I personally would still like to farm hard, unless the opportunity of killing a hero arrises.

Around level 12-13, Usually, i would have gotten my Valdmir's Offering + a Headdress Of Rejuvination. With this 2 items, I would put the REAL meepo + a clone(CTRL+2) to farm the neutrals, while another clone farming on his own lane(CTRL+1).

At this stage, you can easily go for the Ancient Creep Camp if u like to farm. You shouldn't have any big problem leveling up faster than your enemy if everything goes well.

D2c. Late game:

Late game starts when u read level 16, while the rest of the people are still at level 12 or 13.

This is the time where u have 4 meepos, and your CORE items are all readily available (Valdmir's Offering + Mekasm).

Go solo Roshan. YES. you heard me. SOLO roshan. All 4 meepos should be there. Attack roshan, and don't forget to pull back the one which is being attacked. When all the meepos are equally wounded, click your Mekasm.

Collect your Aegis, and now, go farm in the ENEMY's neutral camp, and start hunting for enemy heroes ..... help in ganks ...... and kill kill kill.

If no opportunities arrises, send 3 meepos (1 REAL + 2 clones) to farm the Ancient, while the other clone farm on your lane.

E. Conclusion

Meepo is all about out leveling the rest. Do not feel discouraged if u still can't get it right the first few times, be it on the outleveling part, or with the netting skill, or with the Multi-tasking skill. Practice makes perfect. Play it more, and sooner or later, u will get the hang of it, and u will definitely like him :)

Here is the suggested skill build:

C. Skill Build

1. Frost Nova

10. Attribute Bonus
11. Chain Frost
12 - 15. Attribute Bonus
16. Chain Frost
17 - 21. Attribute Bonus
21 - 25. Frost Armor

Brief explanation to skill builds:

1. Frost Nova is your only nuke. Great harassing skill.
2. Dark Ritual early on so that you can keep on spamming Frost Nova and at the same time deny experience.
3. Frost Armor is not taken early because you don’t have enough mana to keep spamming it. You want to actively go hunt for heroes during early/mid game. Can be learnt early though if team clashes starts earlier.
4. Chain Frost is taken whenever it is available.

How To Use Frost Nova

Frost Nova is early harassing skill. Once you have learnt lvl2 of it and at leave one level of Dark Ritual, you can start casting it on enemy on every possible chance. Keep in mind that Frost nova not only deals damage to the enemy, it also slows the enemy. Finding a good timing in casting frost nova is essential. Don’t just simply walk up and cast it on enemy. The best time to cast it is when your creeps are more than your enemy’s, and that the enemy creeps are about to die. Cast it immediately on the enemy, and follow up with a few hits. Coupled with the hits from your creeps, it will deal a large amount of damage during early stage. Same goes to the situation where heroes are attacking your towers while their creeps are about to die. Cast it on him, follow up with a few of your own hits + tower’s.

How To Use Dark Ritual

Use it on every chances when it’s cool down is done.
Use it only on a full health melee creep.
Use it only when your mana pool is not full.
It’s a good way to experience deny enemy during early/mid game.

How To Use Chain Frost

People has the impression that Chain Frost is best used when 2 or more enemy heroes are present. That is a totally wrong idea. As long as it can pocket you a kill or two, it will be a good justification for you to use it.
How to use it to get a sure kill? Here’s how you do it.

- You have Frost Nova and Chain Frost. 325 + 280 = 605(453).
- If Chain Frost hit twice, then it will be 325 + 280 + 280 = 885(663)
- Chain Frost hit twice, with Frost Nova and Dagon, 325 + 280 + 280 + 400 = 1285(963)

Now, do you see how powerful Chain Frost is when used correctly? At level 7, if you manage to pull of the combo of Frost Nove, with Chain Frost hitting the enemy twice, 9/10 you will get the kill.

Again, timing is the key to success. The best timing to cast Chain Frost is when your enemy left only 1 melee and 1 range creep with them. Walk right up to them, throw your chain frost, and immediately Frost Nova him. By the time the Chain Frost hit him and bounce to his range creep, the melee creep will most probable be dead by now, and thus, the Chain will bounce back to the enemy hero. With your Frost Nova slowing the enemy, you will be able to add in some extra hits if he is still alive. Don’t forget. You still have a dagon later on 

C. Item Build

Recommended Item Build:

Starting items:
1. Chicken before leaving fountain.
2. Staff Of Wizardy
3. Dagon
4. Point Booster + Boots
5. Mekasm
6. Skadi
7. If the game still hasn’t end, you will be in big trouble. I would suggest getting Aghanin + Refresher to help your team.

Brief explanation to item builds:

1. Dagon is a must as your finishing move. However, it is not really worth it to further upgrade it.
2. Mekasm is there to support your team mates while pushing. Coupled with your Frost Armor, and your huge mana pool after you got your skadi, it will be very devastating.
3. Skadi, improved on every aspect.
4. If the game really still hasn’t end after you’ve got skadi, then maybe you are not doing something right during the early/mid game, (or maybe your team mate sucks). By now, you will most probable lose the game. Anyway, just quickly get your REFRESHER + AGHANIN, in the hope that it might help you get double/triple/quadruple/quintet kill and turn the table around tongue.gif

D2. Walkthrough by game stages:

D2a. Early game:

Pick any lane. I prefer mid lane, because that’s the lane where 9/10 times there will be 2 heroes.

Buy a chicken. Transport flash to you when needed. Main goal is to get your Staff of Wizardy, then Dagon ASAP.

Keep leveling up.
Keep harassing with Frost nova.
Keep Experience denying with Dark Ritual.

Start killing when u reach level 6.

D2b. Mid game:

This is the point where Lich shine most.

Start hopping from lane to lane to help your team mates get rid of their annoying enemies tongue.gif

You main goal here is to KILL, and send enemy back, to help your team mates farm better, and have higher experience.

D2c. Late game:

This is when most of the mad mid lane pushing starts. If you have your Frost Armor, auto cast it on all ally, use your Mekasm when needed.

When both team starts to engage, stand behind. Wait for you team to clear off creeps, then release your Chain Frost + cast Mekasm + Frost Nova.

E. Conclusion

The success of your game depends on how well your performance during early/mid game. Be sure to harass your enemy 9-9 so that your team will be much stronger than the opposing team towards the end stage.

Have fun with Lich King. 

11. Doom
12. Scorched Earth
13. Scorched Earth
14. Attribute Bonus
15. Attribute Bonus
16. Doom
17 - 25. Attribute Bonus

Brief explanation to skill builds:

1. Devour for easy farming during early stages, so that you can get your early items fast.
2. LVL Death early-mid games for killing heroes.
3. Scorched Earth is only taken in mid game because in early game, we don’t need the fast move speed for chasing to kill. We kill by using spells.
4. Doom is taken whenever it is available.

Why Devour ???

Devour is a vary good farming skill. It’s a skill that everyone should get it regardless of how good you are in farming, IMHO.
Let’s say you are very good at farming at is capable of getting all last hit on all creeps, it is still a very good skill to invest in. An average creep gives you 40 gold. An additional 40 gold on top of all the 4 creeps during early game is actually a 25% increase in gold collected. Anyway, it is just my humble opinion that it is a skill way to good to be neglected. If you really feel that you don’t need it, it is still up to your personal preference. J Just some thing to take note, do not devour enemy creeps whenever you are planning to backstab. Enemy creep which is still being “digested” will give all the enemies true sight on your location.

Why LVL-Death???

LVL Death should be invested gradually together with the level growth of the opponent in your lane, thus, the reasoning of getting it at level 2/4/7/8. When Doom is at level 4, LVL Death will inflict extra damage on level 5 hero; At level 7, Doom will inflict extra damage to hero at level 8; at level 8, LVL Death will inflict extra damage on heroes at level 9. With this on mind, you should be always staying ahead of your opponent regardless of whichever situation. This is your signature skill to shine during early/mid game. There is no reason to pull back this skill to just at level 2 just because the maximum level for all heroes is level 25. What is 100+250 damage to heroes when they are at level 25? It will be just like a sniff on them.

Why no Scotched Earth in early games ???

We don’t need the moving speed in that early game. We aren’t inflicting damage thru our physical hit during this time. Furthermore, with Devour, you will be able to get your Ring Of Health around …. Say level 3, or the worse, level 5. Don’t forget that you still have a sapphire flask that you’ve brought with you before you leave your lane? That should be able to last you until you get your ring under any circumstances.

C. Item Build

Recommended Item Build:

Starting items:
1 sapphire water + 2 clarity potion

1. Ring Of Health + Void Stone
2. Power Treads
3. Orge Axe / Belt / Mitril / Claymore
4. Demon Edge + Quarter Staff
5. Start Combining Item(MKB / Sange)
6. Reaver + Vitality
7. Heart of Tarrasque
9. Heart of Tarrasque

Brief explanation to item builds:

1. Start off with a Saphirre + 2 clarity. Saphirre for unforeseen situation, and clarity so that you can devour and have enough mana for kills early.
2. Orge Axe / Belt / Mitril / Claymore are gotten in any order base on your own judgement on the situation. Do not combine those items, yet. Just get them.
3. MKB because your spells alone at this stage can no longer kill heroes. You need to rely on your physical damage.
4. Heart for helping in tanking.

D1. Skill Analysis

1. How to use Devour
Whenever a creep wave arrives, just devour one of the melee creep, as it gives more gold compared to the range creep.
Just keep in mind that, when you are planning to backstab/ambush, do not devour enemy creeps, as devour will reveal your location to the enemies.

2. How to use LVL Death
a. This is the skill that let you kill heroes during early/mid stage. Using this skill requires a little bit of your planning as well as timing.

b. If you play well, you should be able to get kills by only using this skill during early/mid game. A spell that deals 250+250 damage isn’t some joke.

3. How to use Scotched Earth

When you have level 4 of this skill, just use it whenever you are in a battle, and whenever the cooldown is down.

More details on how to use it from [http://www.dotaportal.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7877]

4. Doom

a. Use it as a finisher during early / mid games.

b. During team clashes in mid/later stage, do not use it as a finisher. Instead, you should use it to silence spell caster from the opposite team so as to wear down their team disabling power. Examples of heroes that you should be targeting are lion/rhasta/Death Prophet/etc.

D2. Walkthrough by game stages:

D2a. Early game:

Pick a side lane. If you can have a solo, it would be best. But if you couldn’t you can still live with it.

At level 4, you should have already got your LVL Death 2nd level. Wait patiently for your opponent to reach his level 5. Once he is at level 5, immediately cast LVL Death on him. Just do it once enough.

Keep leveling up. Just right before you were to reach your level 6, consume your clarity potion.

Once you hit level 6, if the enemy still lingers around, immediately cast DOOM, then LVL Death. This should pocket you a kill.

If you are not confident in the above mention method, you may want to cast twice LVL Death when the enemy is at his level 5, and then cast DOOM as your finisher when you reach your level 6.

D2b. Mid game:

Once you have your perseverance, you should be able to semi-spam your LVL-Death. This is the stage where you shine most. A nuke with 500 damage is really painful.

You should plan well ahead for your mana usage. If you see a hero which matches the level with your LVL Death spell, you should be running towards him. Normally, a LVL Death + DOOM would be suffice for most agility/intelligent heroes.

Carry clarity potions with you at all times so that when the opportunity arises, you will be able to take it (have efficient mana for a LVL-Death + DOOM)

Once you have your Scotched Earth level 4 together with your Battle Fury, there is no need for you to spam Devour any longer. You should be conserving your mana for Scotched Earth + Doom + LVL Death in team clashes.

D2c. Late game:

Your role right now is to tank for your team. You should be able to do the job well with your great strength stats growth coupled with your Hearts. Just silence the disabler from the opposite team, cast Scotched Earth in front of you, and march in. The rest should be handled by your team mates.

E. Conclusion

Doom Bringer is a fun hero to use. With good farming skills to get great items, and wonderful nuke that does insane damage, everyone will be able to enjoy playing him with a little bit of practice, and timing too.

Comments and feedback are most welcome.

Level 2 - 2.0 second casting time, 8 pulses of 110 damage.
Level 3 - 2.0 second casting time, 10 pulses of 110 damage.

Items (485):-
Things to get before you leave for your lane for a 5v5 game ...
1. circlet (185)
2. Glove of Strength (150)
3. Sapphire water (100)
4. Clarity Potion (50)

GamePlay:-
Very easy. Take any lane. I prefer getting a solo lane for bottom if I'm sentenial, and top if i'm scourge. Remember. You're a melee hero. Behave as one. Just go in for the last hit. Do not use your burrowstrike now, except some rarely exceptional case, e.g.:- enemy hero comes within your tower's range. Your main goal now is nothing more than to level up as fast as possible to level 6.

Hero Killing:-
This is what i follow. It works most of the time for me.
1. When you are at level3 (having level2 BurrowStrike), cast it on your enemy, then quickly run back.
2. When you are at level5 (having level3 BurrowStrike), cast it on your enemy again, hit him once/twice, then run back.
3. Find a good timing, stay out clearly from your enemy's sight, consume your clarity potion. (so that you will have enough mana to cast your burrow-epic combo when your ulti comes)
4. When u are at level6, do this combo:- BurrowStrike-Epicentre, and give chase to your enemy.

Most of the time, 9 out of 10, i will get a kill.

Mid Game (Level 7-16)

Skills:-
7. BurrowStrike
8. Stats / SandStorm

10. Stats
11. Epicentre
12. Caustic Finale
13. Caustic Finale

Items(485 + 3035):-
5. Bracer (185)
6. Boot Of Speed (500)
7. Void Stone (900)
8. Mystic Staff (1000)
9. Robe Of Magi (450) --> Eul's Sceptor

GamePlay:-
You can ask someone to look after your lane, and go hero hunting. Look for heroes with no nuke or disable (as your ultimate is a channeling spell, and if u get stunned/disabled during the casting 2 sec, you're doomed). If it's a big fat high hp hero, you won't be able to kill them with a single burrow-epic combo. I suggest that you burrowStrike him once/twice and hit him a few times, before you pull of your combo to get a sure kill.

Hero Killing:-
After you've got your Eul's, you have another way to kill heroes. Same rules applied. If possible, don;t got for stunners/disablers. This is how you kill them:-
1. BurrowStrike
2. Hit 2-3 times
3. Cyclone them
4. Wait below, hit him once when he lands, and quickly burrowStrike again.
5. Hit him 2-3 times.
6. If he's still alive, cyclone him up again, and do the same procedure.

Farming on Creeps:-
Once you've got your Caustic Finale, farming will be as easy as A-B-C. I pressume that by this stage, you should have got your Eul's. When a creep wave come, target the range creep, and burrowStrike it. (You will stunned all of the creeps). Attack the range creep, and when he dies, he will get exploded and causes damage to the melee creeps. Choose the lowest health melee creep and attack. When he dies and explodes, you will get the WHOLE creep wave. Isn't that easy ?

End Game:-

Skill:-

18. Stats
19. Stats
20. Stats
21. Stats
22. Stats
23. Sand Storm
24. Sand Storm
25. Sand Storm

Items:-
10. BKB (If your opponent comprises of a lot of stunners/disablers)
or
10. Linken Sphere (If the opposite team has only one stun/disable spell)
or
10. Complete your Guinsoo (If there's no stunners/disablers)
11. Heart Of Tarraque (This will be your final item)
If the game still doesn't end, then you will have a variety of options here. You can go for Boots Of Travellers for lane pushing. With your BurrowStrike-Caustic Finale, clearing creep waves should be easy for you. Or you can go for MKB for extra damage and attack speed. If your team needs you to tank, then get another Heart Of Tarrasque. Whatever items you get, just remember, DO NOT GET ANY ORB EFFECT ITEMS, as this will cancel off your Caustic Finale.

Game Play:-
You start to notice that your Epicentre's function is gradually wearing down. It doesn't kill enemy as easy as before. As for this stage, most of the time people will be gathering in the middle and push hard.

- if your team has a tanker, he will be the one entering the battle first. You, the 2nd. When he enters the battle, and all the enemy cast spells on him, this is your turn. BurrowStrike, Avatar(If you have BKB), then Epicentre. The rest of you teammates should pick up the finishing job.

- if your team do not have a tanker, i suggest that you be the tanker. Once you get your heart Of Tarrasque (or 2), you can start tanking. Same tactic. BurrowStrike, Avatar(if u have BKB), then epicentre.

Hero Killing:-
This stage of game shouldn't be concentrated on hero killing. Pushing is your ultimate goal. Stay together with your team. Help them. Use your cyclone/BurrowStrike to save yourself and your ally. That's all. Till then ..... Enjoy ~~~ :)

Conclusion:-
Overall Skill

1. BurrowStrike
2. Stats
3. ButtowStrike

5. BurrowStrike

Razor - Skill Build
Posted by lionel319 @ Tue 14 Nov, 06, 06:53PM under Scourge Hero
Razor is one of the most easy to use hero in DotA. I for one, took Razor as my newbie hero to start off. :)

There are arguments of what skill to up for a razor. Well, there's no right or wrong answer over here. What stated here is just merely my personally preference as well as judgement. Feel free to flame and give your suggestions :)

Frenzy, which i think isn't really that useful during early games. Why? Because Razor is really fragile. He can't really take the extra pain during early games. Furthermore, his attack speed isn't really that great yet. I would suggest getting frenzy when he is a little bit stronger, and faster.

UnHoly Fever, which is my personally favourite. It's a free RingOfRegen (+2hp) when fully upgraded. On top of that, it helps in your movement speed. I would go for this against Frenzy.

Chain Lightining. Now this is the most arguable variable for razor. Most people will call you a n00b if u take razor without upgrading this skill. Well, it is actually quite situational. It really depends who you are facing during early games. Some people like to upgrade this skill as fast as possible to do some early harrasment, but i wouldn't but that idea that much. Basically because Razor's mana pool isn't really that huge for you to spam enought lightning in order to send your enemy back home. The most u can cast consecutively is only 3-4 chains. Well, if you like it, then take it :) I would rather go for Stats. +2 to str/agi/int. Imagine. At lvl7, when u have lvl4 Chain Lightning, i would have almost gotton myself a free Ultimate Orb (+8 to all stats) :p Isn't that nice?

And well, last but not least, the Storm Seeker. A passive spell which needs no mana, as if u are having 3 free Radiance? Who doesn't want it ? :) Get this whenever u can :)

Reasoning:-
Q) Why only 2 level of soul steal?
A) level 2 soul steal is enough for you to stay in your lane for as long as u want if you play safe and farm safe during early game. It heals 300hp, with a mere 45 mana cost.

Overall Item Built
IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Reasoning:-
Q) Why no Dagon + Lothar build? Can instant kill ?
A) This build, if facing experience team, won't do any help to your team. Just imagine,
- when everyone in the opposing isn't crossing the river, what can you do? Go inside their territory and look for food?
- when towards end game, how can u contribute towards your team when everyone pushes together, and they have wards?
With these facts above, I really don't see a solid reason for getting the above mentioned items, unless you are playing against weaker enemy teams, or you want personal glory.

Q) Skadi + Manta are orbs. They dun stack.
A) Yes they do. There's a trick in getting Skadi without cancelling of your mana break. I'll teach you later.

Q) Your items seems very expensive.
A) It is just the best case situation. Butterfly is just a luxury. Your main item is Skadi + Manta. Both is only 12550, which is considered quite cheap compared to other builds.

Q) Why your items?? What Butterfly/Skadi/Manta?
A) Becuase those are the items which greatly benifit TB, as well as his IMAGES.
- Butterfly (Evasion stacks with images. 25% evasion means 25% more hp. 50% IAS meaning more damage)
- Manta (Images benefit from feedback, though only the melee images)
- Skadi (+25 stats. Images only benefit from stats increase. Your images will be tougher)

Items:-
1. Ring Of Basilus
2. Boots
3. Diffusal Blade / 2 Ultimate Orb

GamePlay:-att
Before you leave. Get yourself a Ring Of Protection and Sobi Mask. That will make you a Ring Of Basillus.
This is the only item which u really need to stay onto your lane for as long as you need.
Just farm your way up to your items. Noticed that I put a choice between 2 ultimate orb or a diffusal blade. Reason being:-

- If your team is doing fine, and everyone can hold on their stance firmly, I would suggest that you quickly farm up for your skadi, and thus in this case,
go for the 2 ultimate orb.
- If your team is having problem and already showing signs of struggling, I would suggest that you better farm up for a fast item so that you could be of some help
in team clashes. Diffusal Blade will be the choice here. With feedback from TB and his images, and a nice purge, you will be able to offer some help to help you team
to hold on their ground.

(Please refer to the "Farming Method" section below for more details on how to farm and stay on your lane)

End Stage (level 13-25)

Skills:-
13 - 15. Stats
16. Sunder (MAX)
17 - 23. Stats
24 - 15. Soul Steal

Items:-
1. Skadi
2. Manta
2. Butterfly

GamePlay:-
This is the time where most of the game would enter a HARD push in mid lane. With your items ready, you are really a force to be reckoned.
- Nice hp, as a tank
- High attack speed /damage, as a damage dealer
- Strong pusher, for getting down towers and rax

This is the time for you to push together with your team, and win the game.

(Please refer to the "Pushing Method" section below for more details on how to push effectively)

Farming Method
During the early stage of the game, you are pretty weak, you need to farm hard for your items, and yes, TB is not meant for new players. He needs great control
to be able for him to farm up to his items.

- if you are against non nukers/stunners or only 1 nuker/stunner
This will be much easier. Just go in for the last hit. Definitely, you will get harrassed by your opponent.
Fear not. When you are low on health, fall back to your own range creep, and perform Soul Steal on the melee creep.

- if you are against 2 nukers/stunners
This will be a bit harder, but still, there is a way.
Conjure Image, set your real TB to hotkey 2, and select all TB(the real one and all his images) to hotkey 1.
Press 1 to select everyone, and go in for the last his.
For this case, DO NOT Soul Steal, yet. Wait for the opponent creeps to push near your tower. While you are under your tower's protection, perform Soul Steal.
It really doesn't matter if it were cancelled of by the enemy's stun. Soul Steal's cooldown is very fast, and the mana cost is pretty low. Perform it again and again
until you reach full health.

Something to take not though. I usually do not wait until my health is under orange/red before performing soul steal. I always make sure that my hp is at the
yellow/green stage, so safety purposes. With 2 stunners/nukers with you, the risk is too much for you to take on during the early stage.

Together with time, TB starts to grow stronger. Coupled with your main items, you will be able to call Conjure Images whenever the cooldown is done. This ensures that:-
- You will be able to farm much more better, and faster
- You will be able to avoid death more often.

How to farm better with images? Easy. Like the above, select everything and hotkey them as 1. Direct everyone to force attack a particular unit. 9 out of 10 times, the gold
will be yours.

How To Farm Safely
Farming is so important for TB as he really needs his items to make him shine. And therefore, I decided to come up with this part to help anyone who really has difficulty in farming up their items due to consistant death or ganks.

IPB Image

From the snapshot above, I usually take the bottom lane when i am in Sentinel. This grant me fast access to the neutral creeps. Your main goal during early stage is just to do LAST HIT. Do not attack any creep more than once. Kill your own creeps whenever possible. The idea is to keep the creep clashes as close as possible to your tower.

You see that 2 white arrors? That's the access path that enemy could get thru and ambush you. You should always keep an eye on the minimap. Whenever your creeps cross over any of the white arrors, and if you happen to see any hero missing from the minimap, I would suggest that you don't follow your creeps. Stay back and send your image to check and see whether is there any hero hiding behind the bushes. If there's no hero, u may command your images with you and farm for those neutral creeps camp, which i've circled it in white. It it useless for you to pursue with your creep wave at this time, as they are already near to the enemy tower. You hardly have any chance to do the last hit thing without risking being hit by the tower. Worst still if there's a stunner around and stun your there. so the best thing to do when your creeps have already crossed the river is just to farm those white circled neutral creep camps, together with your images. Just don't forget to send in your images to scout for any ambusher before you farm for neutral creeps.

Once you see that your lane's creep wave started being pushed down near to your tower, you can now go back to your tower and start doing the last hit on enemy creeps again.

When u run low on health, and enemy creeps have already croseed the river, you can heal yourself thru neutral creeps. Conjure image, send your image as your tank, and stand behind them and perform soul steal.

The main important goal is, don't die !!! farm hard !!!

Pushing Method
I assume that during this stage, you must already have achieved your Manta + Skadi.
People think that having manta + Skadi on TB will render his mana break useless. This is not true.
If you pick up your Skadi when u are in RANGE form, you will stil get mana break regardless of what form you are in later on. Even your melee images will get the feedback.
If that doesn't happen, do not panic. Just drop everything on the floor, turn metamorph, and pick up everything again. It should work.

I normally save Metamorph for pushing, and thus, I use it sparingly.

Normally, wherever I go, I will ensure that I always have an image or 2 with me all the time. This will ensure safety for you.
With this in mind, let's go to hard core pushing.

I assume that when you are together with your team in a 5v5 push, u already are having 1-2 image with you in melee form.
Once you engage with the enemy,
- immediately activate your manta style to create 2 more images.
- Metamorph yourself
- Conjure Image on yourself
- Select everything and hotkey 1.
- Force fire on the tower/building/rax/whatever thing you guys are breaking.

Fear not. You are now a tanker. With you and another metamorphed image, it will be hard to tell which one is the real one.
Even if the enemy is manage to tell, you still have your sunder with you. The best case of course is to sunder a full health enemy hero. But if that is not a
possible option, then that is when your hotkey 1 comes into help.

When you select all the TB with hotkey 1, u will be able to see thru your bottom of your screen. Definitely there will be some full health images. Immediately cast
sunder on it, and you will be a green hp'ed TB again. That's the main reason why we get Manta + Skadi too, so as to beef up your hp, and bring forth the optimum
results in sunder. Imagine this,
- if your hp is 1000, and when u sunder at 230hp, you only gain +770hp
- but when your hp is 3000, and when u sunder at 700hp, you gain a whole ton of +2300hp !!!

It would be good if you are able to estimate before hand when will the team clash occur. If that's the case, then it would be wise to immediately metamorph yourself.
keep on conjuring images when on your way to the enemy's base. By the time you reach there, you will be having 4 team mates with you, together with 3 metamorphed TB.
I don't think anybody would dare to come near your team now tongue.gif

Once your metamorph form expires and your turned back to melee form, and if your team is still pushing hard, immediately activates your manta style and force fire on
the target again. Don't forget to always use your Conjure Image spell when the cooldown is ready.

Replay

This replay was by no mean a very good one. We won because the opposing team didn't gave much pressure on us. Nonetheless, it manages to show that the build for Skadi + Manta + Butterfly really does work, especially when applying a hard core push to get rid of towers/rax. Noticed carefully how the towers/rax are being brought down with brute force from all the images of TB. I Metamorphed TB, then conjure image on him, and with that, Manta. All in all, 5 images together with 4 team mates, we bring down the towers/rax of the bottom lane in one push.

Another point that i would like to add is that, carrying a gem on TB, and calling an image on him will allow his image to have true sight. This was also performed during the replay on a stage whereby I scouted the mid lane for any remote mines. Towards the end, due to the fear of losing the gem, i bought wards instead.

Conclusion
This guide is by no mean a very detail guide, nor it be a very good guide. I admit the simplicity and brief walk through in it. The purpose of this guide is just to give the reader a cleare and better idea on how to maximise and use Terrorblade up to his optimum capability. With all his spells concentrating on images, we should utilise this benefit of his and bring to the utmost power upon all his images. Just my humble opinion. At least, that's the way how i play him. Comments and suggestions are most welcome. smile.gif

Skadi + Manta on Terror Blade
Posted by lionel319 @ Tue 21 Feb, 06, 07:09PM under Scourge Hero
I wanted to come up with a perfect build on my terror blade guide, and thus, i tested it with the different combinations on what effect TB and his images will get when he is equipped with Manta + skadi. The below is the table shown:-
